This Rupes feels premium. Smooth, quiet, comfortable grip. Pricey, but you feel the difference right away.

I got the LHR15 Mark III a month ago to replace my older DA polisher, and man, it’s something else. The motor is plenty strong, and I like that it handles curved panels better than I expected. The rubberized front grip helps when things get slippery. The new speed dial + progressive trigger make it easier to control the tool mid-job. One thing: when you tilt too much or hit weird angles, the pad can slow a bit — you gotta keep it flat. But overall, huge upgrade.

If you’re doing serious paint correction, this Rupes is a solid choice. It’s comfy, doesn’t vibrate your arm out, and the 9-m cord is super practical so you don’t have to drag extension cables. But it’s not perfect: for tight spaces or complex curves, sometimes the pad loses rotation. Also, spare parts and pads for Rupes are more expensive than generic ones. Still, for what it does, I think it’s worth it.

So I started testing this Rupes LHR15 Mark III on my weekend car projects. First run: I accidentally leaned it on the edge of the hood — pad speed dropped weirdly. Was a little freaked, but when flat surface, it shines. It does cut well, but doesn’t “eat” paint — you can micro-control it. The ergonomics are great, I’ve used it for 2 hours without my wrist complaining. Just watch those angled spots.
